Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Shola Ward Showola leads The Federal Savings Bank’s security team, ensuring that business is operating smoothly and in accordance with regulatory requirements. Shola is pivotal in maturing the bank’s cybersecurity outlook and overall security posture.
With over 20 years of professional experience, Shola began his career at age 17, interning for Nortel Networks, a Fortune 500 telecommunications company. Shola then entered the information technology sector providing services for universities, trading firms, medical centers and, most recently, banks.
Shola’s passion for security extends beyond the bank through teaching as an adjunct professor for courses such as computer forensics and internetworking. He holds a Bachelor and Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Northern Illinois University respectively and is currently in pursuit of his doctoral degree.
